Grand National PreCommitment
I received my contract yesterday from NTPA. 8 contracts were sent out to modified competitors. The field is not fixed at this point as those who received contracts may not send them back in, or others may request to be added. The contracts sent out were:

Barga Family
Bollinger (2 tractors)
Bunnage Brothers
Diekman
Doug Downs
Larry Piekarski
Larry Roberts

I think that gives a nice mix of vehicles with 2 Chevies, 1 Hemi, 2 Turbines, and 3 Allisons. This should be a really competitive year.

Bandit 1994-2005 Rest In Peace
Having successfully recovered from Meningitis during 2003, Bandit's health started declining in the fall of last year. He was losing muscle tone and control of the back half of his body. It was determined he had a degenerative disease that is common in German Shepards. We tried various foods and medications, but his condition never got better. So we made the tough decision to let him rest. Stacey stayed with him most of the day and he was sleeping when I got home. She said today was a bad day because he kept falling down. He looked scared and not peaceful. Just before our vet appointment, he got up and walked right to the garage door. We got him in the car and drove to the vet. Once we got him back out of the car, it is usually a challenge to get him into the vet, not because he doesn't like it, but because there are so many things to sniff in from of the vets. But, not today, it was if he was saying, "I am ready, let's go." We stayed with him as he drifted off to sleep. Sleep Well my bubby.

2005 Schedule
With tentative schedules posted by NTPA and HSTPA, I have placed a tentative schedule up. Presently it looks like we will run both HSTPA and GN MOD for points, assuming I make the cut for NTPAs GN Precommitment program. I think it is 28 hooks, but we know how fluid the schedules are at this point, so all this is subject to change.
