National Farm Machinery Show
Let me start by saying, it has been an extremely busy November in the Piekarski household. I have been way behind in keeping up with the blog and hope to get caught up over the next few days.

For the forth time, we received an invitation to the NFMS in Louisville, KY for Wednesday night, February 16th, 2006. Since we are not pulling next year, this will make our only appearance for 2006. Normally, the NFMS comes in the middle of winter maintenance and I look at the pull as break-in and chance to try new things. Since we are not pulling next year, I am not doing the normal winter maintenance, so we will run hard like last season. The only things I am doing are the usual types of things between pulls, like an oil change, repairing a few things from the bad run an Sandwich, and making a new secondary draw bar. The NFMS committee requires two draw bars and two chains as an extra safety measure since we will be indoors. My last 3 trips, I used a secondary draw bar built by Ralph Banter. Last year, the tech man said they would like to see something better for the next trip down. So, that is in the works.

On a side note, since the tractor is currently for sale, if it sells before the farm show, the tractor sells with the invitation and my free tickets. The new owner will only owe me the $150 performance bond, and is welcome to pull at Louisville and keep the prize money, trophies, etc.
